A large woodland complex 3 miles west of central Oxford owned and managed by the University of Oxford. It is an ancient semi-natural woodland. Free PERMIT REQUIRED IN ADVANCE from the Conservator of Wytham Woods, valid for three years (apply online at https://www.wythamwoods.ox.ac.uk/permit). Open 10am to dusk on weekdays and dawn to dusk at weekends. Car parks at SP486069 by Botley Lodge (close to the A34/A420 junction) and at SP469086 half a mile west of Wytham village.
